When life becomes a struggle and problems seem insurmountable, counselling and psychotherapy can offer a way forward.
Counselling and psychotherapy provides a safe and confidential environment in which to explore any difficulties you may currently be experiencing.
Counsellors are trained to listen and support you and will neither judge or advise. Talking therapies can be useful for dealing with difficult situations in your life which seem almost impossible to overcome. Situations such as loss and bereavement, divorce, redundancy, career changes, loss of a treasured pet, facing fertility issues or simply working upon anger or self confidence in terms of self development.
Why Counselling?
Counselling assists people with managing their anxiety. It can be used short term to help with specific problems or longer term for dealing with more enduring deep rooted issues. Sometimes you may have feelings which you are unable to share with both immediate family and friends, but which you can discuss in a confidential environment with someone who is not directly involved in your everyday life.
By going through this process you can begin to make more sense of life, feel less confused and gain an overall sense of purpose and direction.
You can also begin to make all important changes/decisions, or simply allow yourself to come to terms with elements in your life that may have prevented you from moving forwards. Counselling sessions offer dedicated time and a safe environment for individuals' to consider all options open to them. This in turn allows them to feel empowered to make decisions and obtain a greater clarity in their life at times when they need this most.
I am a fully Accredited Member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and a full Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, (BACP) working towards Accreditation. I am bound by their Ethical Frameworks for Good Practice in both Counselling and Psychotherapy. I provide Integrative counselling combining Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Humanistic, Transactional Analysis (TA) approaches and Solution Focused therapies. Counselling and psychotherapy can begin a journey of exploration for many people which can assist them significantly in moving themselves forwards in life. The more information they possess about themselves and their issues the greater their insight to effect positive behavioural change.
